Archiv.IO adopts blockchain technology to armor your docs, the same used for the most notable cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum.
In cryptocurrency system there is no credit institution that supervises or controls and legitimizes,
so it has been necessary to find another method to prevent "crafty people" from spending already spent money.
This other method or system is based on timestamp mechanism, which identifies each transaction with its own single sequential code,
reinforced by a digital confirmation protocol.
Each transaction is identified with a timestamp and inserted into a set of data called block.
Economic transactions start as: "waiting for validation" and change status only when a match is found in a timestamp list,
managed collectively by the peer-to-peer network, where all criptocurrencies transactions are contained.
This massive, public shared and secured cryptographic register is known as Blockchain
and makes cryptocurrency legitimate and consistent to ensure its use and allow payments.
In essence, it contains information such as: the issue of currency, its equivalent in physical money, who owns it,
who became the new owner following a transaction, guaranteeing its anonymity, and many others.
Blockchain represent the certainty of the data and the sustainability that has been internationally recognized for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

Conservation
Conservation is the technical term with which a mathematical/informatic document is applied,
to allow the storage of documents (rendered digitally and born digitally) in order to make them always available.
In Archiv.IO, the mathematical/informatic Iter follows these simple steps described below.
Request for conservation
Pressing the button "ASK FOR CONSERVATION" the system takes care of the document, it is calculated a unique code called
SHA-256,
incorruptible and traceable only and exclusively to that document uploaded by the user.
Within a maximum of 24 hours, the file/document is "sealed" by a
time stamping process,
in order to confirm the date of storage.
In addition, a further internationally recognized "seal" is placed, which is called
Blockchain
(consult the document “Security and international validity of Blockchain").
The document, in the period between the request for conservation and marking, not exceeding 24 hours,
was however taken over by Archiv.IO which initiated the file/document conservation process.
It is also necessary to specify that the "path" of conservation is independent of both the national system of time stamps or "seals",
and the use of Blockchains with international validity.
Confirmation of acceptance
Upon request for storage, the system responds promptly by sending an email to the email address indicated
by the user during registration with the Archiv.IO service, as a receipt containing:
• The communication that indicates the state of taking charge of the document;
• The unique fingerprint code in SHA-256 format;
• References to the website for further information on the app, terms of use and privacy rules.
Certificate of conservation
The term "certificate" means the availability of the digital preservation test.
In case it is necessary to show the authenticity of the document/file after accepting the conservation,
the Archiv.IO App has a "Send me email with Certificate of Conservation" function to proof the authenticity of the document.
From the menu ,
thanks to the "Send me email with Certificate of Conservation" button,
you can obtain the Certificate linked to your file / document at any time. The email will contain:
• Parameters of the document status: preserved;
• Unique fingerprint code in the SHA-256 format;
• Timestamp*.
*The Timestamp
is the last formal and technical act to "seal" the document uploaded by the user and is proof of the authenticity and uniqueness
of the document placed in conservation. The document starting from 24:00 following the conservation request,
will be marked and the brand evidence will be shown in the sent email of the Certificate of Conservation,
in addition to all the parameters for the indication of the state of digital preservation.
It is reiterated that the "path" of conservation is independent of both the national system of time stamps or "seals", and the use of
Blockchain with international validity.
